The Paxton-Ben love triangle, new characters, and building on season 1's success are discussed by star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and co-creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher.

Devi ended the first season of Never Have I Ever in a front-seat lip-lock with her former nemesis, Ben Gross, after spending the majority of the season lusting after Paxton's abs. Now, as the addictive comedy prepares to return for its second season on Thursday, it's giving the love triangle trope a new spin. And, in true Devi fashion, it's a messed-up situation: she decides to date both of them.

It's a no-brainer for me! Paxton is a hottie, so she should go for him. Ben, on the other hand, is a smart guy. Although Ben and Devi have a lot in common, Paxton is extremely attractive. "Ben gets my super-brainy side. Paxton gets my mega-horny side," Devi says in the season 2 trailer. With a move to India on the horizon, Devi believes now is the best time to see everything an American school has to offer, both intellectually and physically.

The first season of Ramakrishnan's Never Have I Ever premiered on April 27, 2020, and introduced the world to Devi, a fiery Indian American high schooler juggling two cultures while dealing with her father's sudden death and, above all, trying to have a sexy high school experience. The show was watched by 40 million households in its first 28 days on Netflix. Seventy percent of that audience was from outside the United States, with India, Brazil, France, and Canada gaining massive popularity.

Never Have I Ever provided laughter when it was most needed as the world faced the reality of quarantine. For ten episodes, viewers were transported to a world where Paxton's ripped figure, Devi and her friend's wacky antics, and what happens in an Indian-American home.
